First, I believe in really pushing at the boundaries of existing mind sets in order to find better solutions. It can be innovative out of the box thinking, improving on the tried and tested or re-engineering concepts that were simply too ahead of their time to be previously successful.
Second, there is no excuse in this data rich era for managers to make key business decisions without the right tools to help them fully understand business drivers, manage key processes or monitor and review results. Yet I frequently see evidence of this with a huge cost of wasted management time.
Finally, teamwork with everyone focused on the same goals. Nothing will be achieved without it.
